Borough Council President, Fire and First Aid Committee Chairwoman, and a member of the following committees: Police; Recreation, Environmental, and Shade Tree; and Local School Liaison
Barbara Ruane is a life-long resident of West Long Branch and was initially elected to the Borough Council in 2005. In addition to serving on the above committees, she is the Community Development Representative as well as a member of the Monmouth University Liaison Committee, a member of the Monmouth Coastal Alliance, and the liaison to the borough’s webmaster. Mrs. Ruane is the president of The James Thomas Group Consulting Firm for Emergency Management and Counter-Terrorism, and is a Weapons of Mass Destruction Instructor. She is an Emergency Management Technician with the West Long Branch First Aid Squad as well as the Program Coordinator for the borough's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). She is also the Director of Development for Shore Regional High School’s Shore Players. Mrs. Ruane resides at 22 Homestead Avenue with her husband, Mike, and two sons, Jim and Tom.
