Public Property Chairman
John Hegarty is Chairman of the Public Property Committee. He also serves on the Finance Committee, in addition to the Recreation and Environmental Committees. He is our Local Assistance Board representative and serves on the Ordinance Review Committee.
Mr. Hegarty is President of J. Hegarty and Sons Inc., a local building contracting firm. He graduated Ocean Township High School (1975) and has been self employed for 25 years. He was a member of the Planning Board in 2005, member of the Shade Tree Commission and Environmental Commission in 2005, and a member of the Environmental Commission 2006 and 2007.
He is a former Member of Deal Fire Co #2, Cub Master Pack 21 Spring Lake 1991-1995, Soccer Coach Neptune Sports Association, Soccer Coach West Long Branch 2006, Chairman Administration of Properties Church of St. Anselm 1999-2003, Parish Council Church of St. Anselm 1999-2003. Mr. Hegarty designed and built the 9-11 memorial at Church of St. Anselm. He also worked as the liaison between the owner, architect, builder, and funding stream overseeing the construction of a new building for The Center in Asbury Park.
John and his family have resided at 32 Fulton Ave for the past 14 years. Sons John and Ryan graduated from Shore Regional High School. John graduated from Montclair State and Ryan attends Brookdale.
